Comprehensive remodelling of 1950’s detached residence in Galway, Ireland for two musicians.
This project sought to create a family home for a young couple that incorporated a home office, a media room and an instrument workshop and create a new connection between the ground floor and basement level which had previously been used as an independently accessed granny flat.
The project is currently on site and scheduled to complete in August 2014
The need to address the poor thermal performance of the existing building envelope and reduce in-use costs was a key aspect of the brief and resulted in the specification of high performance triple glazed windows and external doors and the external insulation of all outside walls.
